Update Your Bookmarks!!!
Hello my 2 or 3 readers! Updates have been lacking lately, but I have good reason. Last week Miltownkid hooked me up with my own website. Well he supplied the server, but the domain name is all mine. Lately I have been busy setting it all up, creating graphics, html code, etc.... Have no fear once that's all set up, updates will continue to be as funny as ever! Update your bookmarks, as from this site you will be able to access all the pictures and blog. The old site will be cleaned out to make space for videos and such. Sooner or later this site will be not updated and i'll have my own blog on my own website...kick ass! Click this link to visit the new site Frostfox.com. Nothing special there right now, but soon.
This week I will be doing some sub teaching for Miltownkid as he is entertaining his Mom, who came in from Milwaukee on Saturday. I'll tell you about my adventures teaching later.

Shopping Spree
I know I haven't updated in a week, I have been lazy. At least I was honest! Not much happened over the week, so I didn't have an inspiration to blog. Saturday was the most busy/exciting week I had. The day started off good, temp outside was a nice 72F but windy. I decided I wanted to go on the roof of our 12 floor apartment and take some pics...so I did! Was a pretty nice view, but alot of the other taller buildings blocked stuff. Not only did I take picture, but a movie as well! Here is a shot of Yun and I with the Taipei 101 building in the background:
But wait there is more! After our rooftop adventure I decided that I need a website to my self, no more having to remember some weird web address, so on the advice of my good friend Miltownkid I bought my own domain name! It isn't up and running yet, as I have to locate a host and transfer everything, but the URL will be www.Frostfox.com .
No longer will you have to go to the crap comcast site or this blogspot, it will all be on one site, with new graphics! I can't wait!
I'm not done yet! After all that, we went to this place to buy me some jeans. Sounds boring, but if you lived in Taipei and heard of a place that sells jeans for fat people and cheap you would be drooling! Takes about 5-7 minutes from my place on scooter to get there. So I picked up my jeans, tried them on there, fit great and only cost me $10USD.
About a week ago I broke my glasses, nothing to serious. Just the side where it holds it to my head...but some super glue and BAM all better. But since I was on a roll on Saturday I decided it was time for me to wear contacts again. So off we went to the eye glasses place, he took some measurements and such and I got me some eyeball wear...fly! I only got one pair, 2 week thing to test them out, but 2 days later its all good.
So your saying to yourself, how can that day get even better? Check it, I gotz me a DVD burner too! Went to this place I call "Heaven" not because it's pretty or anything, but because on the lower floor it ain't nothing but asian porn....that's right...heaven! This is what heaven looks like:

It's so beautiful, it almost brings a tear to my eye... Here is the DVD burner I bought, it's very nice and works great, now I have a way to copy all my illegal movies I have downloaded! :
I think I had a pretty good weekend, spent way too much, but to live and enjoy life, you have to make that sacrifices sometimes. Ibbity Ibbity Ibbity, that's all folks!

Godzilla Ate Here
Ahh the fine dining of a Japanese restaurant, the beautiful walls, the chopsticks, the ancient Japanese music and the pork chops.....wait..did I say pork chops? Ok maybe all of it isn't traditional Japanese food, but it sure tasted good! For dinner tonight we went to this Japanese place Yun found on the internet. The site claimed that the food was the best Japanese food in Taipei, well a Japanese place without sushi. Which by the way sucks ass. So with nothing to lose, including money, we went. Nice place overall, was on the second floor so it had a nice view(was raining, so the view kinda sucked) but still nice. We both ordered what the place is famous for a pork chop sorta dinner. Came with Miso soup, some raw veggies, and of course rice. They included some nice dipping sauces with it and I swear one of them was A-1 sauce, but Yun assured me(about 20 times) that it isn't A-1...sure tasted like it though...... Here is a pic of what it looked like, looks good huh?
After dinner we...er I wanted to check out Taipei's Hooters restaurant, ya know to check out if they measure up to the Hooters back home. The view inside was breathtaking...if you know what I mean (wink wink). I wasn't allowed to take pictures inside the place, but I have a shot of the sign outside, you will just have to use your imagination of the treasures that are within.

The Annoyance
People always say that when moving to a foreign country you will experience some cultural shock. I barely felt any shock, except for one thing.....mosquitos! Before while living in Chicago I rarely saw them and when I did it was only in the summer months (June-August) and even then they were only a mild annoyance. Here is a different story, there is no mosquito season. They annoy 365 24/7! In the first 2 weeks here I counted 17 bites on my arms and legs and while heading into colder weather their numbers did decrease, they are still here and still pissin me off! Tonight alone I killed 9 mosquitoes, and I only got bit once. I just don't understand it, where do they come from? Why are they attracted to me?
At least Taiwan has some nifty inventions to kill them s.o.b.'s, they have this tennis racket looking thing that is power by 2 C batteries that zaps the crap out of them and fries them to death! Over the past 5 months I have gotten quite good at using it and today I consider myself a professional. I have the skill now that I don't even need to use zapper, I can catch them in my palm of my hand and crush them to death. Next thing I'm going to master is catching them with chop-sticks(oh yeah Karate Kid style)! Here is a pic of me on the hunt wielding the zapper.

The Day After Tomorrow
This entry isn't going to follow any sort of theme or anything, just nonsense and random stuff. Just talking about things I got here in Taiwan or funny stuff and past and present stuff that has happened before I started this blog. First off is about the title of today's post. Hopefully the day after tomorrow I might get some sub work from my buddy Casey. I am almost flat broke and getting any work will be helpful and if they like me maybe I can get a job there. I'm all ready to start working again since it's been about a month since my last teaching job.
Besides that, about a month ago I got myself a cellphone, it's got some nice features, color display, custom ring tones and can add pictures but not take em, I didn't want a camera on my phone since I just got a new digital camera. Check it out, nice red color and it slides up.

Yun's brother gave us this gum today he got from a popular coffee brand in Taiwan called Mr. Brown. I don't think I have seen any of their stores(if they even have any), but the idea of coffee gum doesn't sound too appealing to me, I have yet to try it, but I have smelled it and it does smell like coffee. Here is a pic of it:
Oh man what else...I got on TV here in Taiwan, and no you can't have my autograph! It was for some English news that was running on a story on the fun life of foreigners in Taiwan.
Every month the members of Forumosa.com get together for what we call a "Happy Hour" were we all get together, drink beer and chat. One time about a month ago the TV guys showed up and filmed it. I'm not in all the scenes, and don't get an interview like some of my friends, but you do get to see me a few times in passing shots. You can download it from here (right-click and save to your computer) TV Star.
That's it for today, until next time, same Bat Time same Bat Channel!

EARTHQUAKE!!!
Oh man, at around 3:06am there was 2 earthquakes one minute apart about 5.9 on that scale thingy. Yun and I was up watching the movie "The Aviator" when it happened. She didn't feel it at first but I yelled out "EARTHQUAKE", ok maybe I didn't yell it, but I said it loud enough. At first it was just a little shake swaying back and forth, but when the second hit the floor was moving up and down. Was pretty exciting, but Yun and her brother were freaking out! They said never in their life did they feel 2 earthquakes in a row like that and it worried them, but I was all cool. Found out it was pretty weak in Taipei city, but other places got hit harder but there was minor damage except for 1 road that collapsed. Taipei is sure one hell of a rollercoaster!

Thou Shall Suck My Balls
So yesterday I went to retake my drivers test, which you can read from the last update I failed again. Besides that, I was in front of the testing place just about ready to take the test and threw a wrapper on the ground. Suddenly these 2 half wits jag-offs came up to me and showed me a badge they were wearing that said something in the lines of "Taipei Waste Air Team" or "T.W.A.T." They pointed to the wrapper on the ground and said I broke some law and would have to ticket me. They were serious too, they had their little digital camera and took some pictures of the wrapper on the ground, acting all like they are some CSI investigators checking out a murder scene. They spoke no English, and I speak no Chinese. They took my ID wrote up a ticket gave me back my license and then thanked me! Thanked me?! WTF are you thanking me for you asshole! When they gave it to me, I held it in the air and said to them "Guess what?, I'm not going to pay this" then walked away. The ticket is for $1200NT($37US). Well T.W.A.T...... Thou shall suck my balls!
I think I will actually send them a letter, telling them to suck it too. Stay Tuned for a future update with a letter I will write to them. Below is a copy of the ticket(in Chinese only) Enjoy!

A Driving We Will Go
Driving in Taipei is like pushing your way past fat people all in line for free donuts. No offense to fat people, but just imagine that! I have been driving in Taipei basically since I got here, like early November when we bought a scooter, and while technically it hasn't been legal, I have been doing it anyways. Now I have decided to become legal and get my license. I went last Friday to the place about 45 minutes away since Taiwan doesn't know a thing about placing things near the middle of the city(actually it's not even in Taipei, but right outside it). So I get there and proceed with taking stupid health test, which is: height and weight test(why does this matter when it comes to driving?) next was the color blindness and vision test and lastly was the dumbest test. First you had to show the guy you can open and close your hands 3 times really fast, next you had to squat down and up once...and that's it. Cost me 100NT($3US) to do that...I just think they want any money they can get. Next I was off to the written part of the test. Not sure why they give this test anyways since people in Taiwan don't follow the rules anyways! But I came prepared, one the of the websites I like to visit alot is Forumosa.
They gave me a site where you can practice your skills and I mastered that, so when I took the real test I was happy that is was word for word with the test on the website! And yes the test was given in English.
Next was the driving part, sounds easy, but it isn't. First off you have to drive through 2 lines about 2 feet wide the distance of about 50 feet and must take longer then 7 seconds to complete it. I failed. Twice. So I had to wait a week to re-take the test. That's where I am today. If Yun can get off of work early enough we are gonna go..this time I'll know what to expect and practice some before hand. Wish me luck!
Here is my ride in case your wondering, it's the one in the middle.

Update: I went to take the test again and totally failed! Grrr...I hate that test it is my new arch-rival, Superman has Lex Luther, I have the scooter road test! We shall see who is the victor!

It's Getting Cold In Here, So Put On All Your Clothes
Weather in Taiwan makes little to no sense to me, like why oh why does it have to remain 60 and rain everyday? Maybe it doesn't rain all the time, maybe it shuts off when I sleep, so when I get up, it's all ready for me. The absence of heaters do not help much either. The only form of warmth I have is a crappy electric blanket that I use when I go to bed. There is no central heat in Taiwan anywhere, the closest to come to it is buying a personal heater, but since I'm cheap, I'd rather just freeze. Back in December it was nice out, still wearing shorts and sweating outside, everyday was clear skies and warm skin. Don't worry too much about my rant, come July i'm sure you will be hearing me complain about how god-damn hot it is and wishing for cold again. I'm never happy with weather. Apparently Jan-March is Taiwan rainy season, and it's suppose to rain everyday. I just don't understand it though, it's not like the plants need it, its still too cold for alot of the crops. Hopefully this blog doesn't turn into a place where all I do is complain...but I had to write this one, with weather like this, I can't go out and enjoy myself! Anyways I added support for comments after each post, so please leave comments if you want. Till next time.
First Entry
Welcome to my new web blog, a place on the internet where any loser with a 56k+ connection can post his thoughts about anything he wants from "Squirrel Mating" to "What he had for breakfast this morning". Sadly mine won't be about either of those things. Basically it's just a place where I can let others who care know about what is going on in my life in Taiwan. Updates will happen when I have things to say, but don't expect daily. So sit back, relax and enjoy yourself and be prepared to be amazed and bored at the same time!
